Crvsader Bling

Fossilised Bling!

You might think that bling is a modern invention but you, my friend, are very wrong.

Some of the prettiest pieces of bling was made before humans even walk the world. Think this is a strange thing to say? I suppose it is only if you haven’t seen Amber.

Amber jewellery is bling with warmth. When you touch it, it doesn’t feel cold like other gemstones and when you touch it you want to feel it again and again and again.

I said it was old and older is what it is. It is made from fossilised sap from trees that were alive millions of years ago. Inside the gemstones you see these little bubble like things. These are called inclusions and is what makes Amber unique; no two pieces of jewellery will ever be the same and different just for you.

There are certain places in the world where you can find pieces of Amber just washed up on the shores. Around the Baltic Sea is one place and when there has been especially rough seas some quite sizeable pieces can be found on the shores just waiting for people walking around to find and take home. Of course, the best pieces are taken to jewellers to be fashioned in some of the most beautiful and desired items of jewellery that are ideal for giving to a loved one. This is handy because not everyone lives around the Baltic Sea and as access to Amber just sitting there waiting for them.

Wouldn’t that be a treat? Just having a stroll down the beach and finding something as beautiful as Amber. Until that happens, there’s not much we can do about it but there are some great websites like Amber zone where you can find some the nicest pieces around.

Check it out.

All That Is Bling Isn’t Just Clear!

What is bling?

To me it’s something that is big, bold and full of light and that doesn’t mean that it HAS to be clear cubic zirconia.

Some of the nicest pieces are different colours.  I was watching TV the other day and it was an award ceremony and a guy was walking to the stage and had a pair of large stone earrings on and it was black cubic zirconia.  When I say big I mean BIG and you should have seen how they caught the light when he went up to the microphone.

To be honest, I don’t remember what he said - it’s all the same with these people (I’d like to thank my mum, dad, great aunt agatha, etc., etc.) but the look of those dazzling earrings really made an impression and I’m going to keep an eye out for them and get myself a pair.  Not that I’m likely to win any awards, of course.  But just whenever I am likely to go our and see peoples reaction when I have a chicken egg sized stone in my earrings.  That would be a sight I want to see!

Anyway, keep with the bling and enjoy the dazzle!

My Thoughts On Why We Like Bling

I live in England.

What has that got to do with anything, you may ask.

Well, if you either live here or have seen England in the movies you’ll know that it is grey and murky and often raining.  We need something to cheer us up and what better way to do that than with a little bit (big bit?) of bling!

Sure, it’s not as if it’s the sun but if you have a piece of jewellery that is sparkling like crazy, just looking at the reflected light is going to make you feel a little bit better and perhaps drive away the greyness.  Just a little.  Not much but…enough to make the day a little better.

So if you’re in a grey part of the world like me think about a little bit of bling to bring some light to your day.

I do.  I love it!

You need to wear this.” Amelia holds up a chunky silver necklace studded with gemstones.

I can’t help scrunching up my face. It’s one fugly piece of bling.

Who Likes Bling?

Perhaps the question should be…

Women, obviously.  Often you see a lady with a lot of sparkling, dazzling bling.  But also men like it.  Who hasn’t watched TV today and not seen a guy with a ring that has a brick sized piece of cubic zirconia?  With just a little bit of light, there’s a rainbow going around his hand for all to smile at!

But there’s a group of people who also like to be sparkly.

Who are they, I hear you ask?  Kids!  Children’s jewellery is getting blingier than any other style.

Sure, they are a bit smaller than womens and mens jewellery but when you take into account the size of the child - it’s bling on a grand scale!

Sure, the kids earrings are small and sweet.  But when you look at them…they dazzle you with refracted light!

So, when you see a rapper with a mouth full of bling ask yourself?  Has little Mercedes down the road got more in the way of bling?

You may be surprised…but then, perhaps not.

Bling away!

Welcome to Crvsader Bling

Bling - you can’t get enough of it!

Going out with that special outfit and knowing that you’re sparkling to all around you.  It doesn’t have to be expensive.  Some people might think that it’s not stylish (what do they know?) but who cares what they think when you KNOW that you look good.

You get attention.  People notice you.  People see you sparkle when you enter the room and that feels good.

When they invented cubic zirconia they did a service to the world.  A simple looking man made gemstone, CZ is almost too perfect.  One of the ways of checking to see if a stone is zirconia or diamond is to look at it closely and there’s no flaws - it’s zirconia.  Diamond always has those little imperfections.

They say diamonds are a girls best friend.

I disagree.

While I would love to cover myself in diamonds, the cost would make it impractical so I will have to make do (as if you ever need to just “make do”) with cubic zirconia.

It’s a hard life…
